EasyJet set to open new base at Birmingham Airport creating jobs in the process

EasyJet has today (May 18) announced it will open a base at Birmingham Airport from March 2024.

The investment by the airliner is set to create around 100 direct jobs, including pilots and crew, and will support 1,200 indirect jobs in the West Midlands region. Easyjet will base three of its 186 seat aircrafts at the airport.

Nick Barton, chief executive of Birmingham Airport, said opening the new base will ‘create many more jobs for local people’.

The airliner already serves key domestic connections and international routes from BHX, including Amsterdam, Geneva, Milan, Naples, Lisbon, Faro and Palma de Mallorca. The addition of more aircraft at the airport will enable the airliner to expand its network from Birmingham with new routes for leisure and business travellers.
