Stechford: Man, 47, and woman, 21, found dead at home

Police are currently at the property to carry out searches and forensic examination

The bodies of a man and woman were discovered in a house in Stechford last night (27 January).

Police forced entry to the family home in Swancote Road just before 9.30pm after concerns were raised that the couple were not responding to calls or messages.

A woman, aged 21, and a 47-year-old man were found inside and pronounced dead at the scene.

West Midlands Police have secured the address for searches and a forensic examination.

Post mortem examinations are scheduled to take place today (January 28) to understand exactly how the man and woman died.

One of the force’s specially trained family liaison officers will be supporting their family members.

Chief Superintendent Mat Shaer from Birmingham East Police, said: “This is truly awful and my heart goes out to the couple’s family and friends. “It was clear that nothing could be done to save the man or woman.

“No doubt this will come as a huge shock to neighbours and the local community. But we believe this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the wider public.”
