The awards are set to take place on September 5, 2023, and many Birmingham establishments are nominated in different categories at this year’s awards, but just one chef from the West Midlands is nominated for the best in the UK.

David Taylor, the head chef at Grace & Savour, located at the Hampton Manor in Hampton-in-Arden has been nominated for the Best Chef in the UK. The restaurant is run by David and his wife Annette.

Taylor began his career working under Birmingham’s famous celebrity chef Glynn Purnell before working at Maaemo in Norway which won three Michelin stars. The Solihull restaurant provides an immersive fine dining experience for customers.

And earlier this year, the UK’s leading independent restaurant guide - SquareMeal - announced that Taylor’s Solihull restaurants was voted as the best in the UK. The fine dining venue won the favour of both readers and critics for its top quality food. The restaurant is located inside a stunning Victorian walled garden and the fifteen course tasting menu is served from an open kitchen.
