Ozzy the Bull was unveiled in Birmingham New Street yesterday (Wednesday, July 26) with Sharon Osbourne among the hundreds who came to welcome his return to Birmingham after the Commonwealth Games.

The mechanical bull was named after Brummie heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne and his elder sister Jean joined Sharon to attended the opening ceremony.

The bull wowed audiences with his performance during the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games 2022 and was known as the raging bull. He was initially destined for the scrap heap after the performance at the global event but Brummies campaigned to save him. After a voting process, he was named after the Black Sabbath and Heavy Metal co-founder.

The mechanical bull performed for the first time in New Street yesterday - with his eyes lit-up eyes, and his head moving as he roared and swished his tail. The performance will continue for the next 10 days - when Birmingham Festival 2023 will be on.
