The team said: “We are pleased to announce that today’s performances (Fri 23 Dec) of Tales From Acorn Wood at Christmas at 10am & 1pm and Dick Whittington at 2.30pm will go ahead. Please note our facilities and hospitality services may be limited.”

But the theatre is still not sure whether the 4pm and 7.15pm shows will go ahead. “Our water supply is still affected as a result of the burst water main in the city yesterday. We will update later today on the 4pm performance of Tales From Acorn Wood and the 7.15pm performance of Dick Whittington. Thank you for your patience and understanding,” said the Birmingham Hippodrome team.

What Severn Trent said

On Thursday (December 22), Severn Trent had said: “Customers in the Birmingham area of B5 may be without water or have lower water pressure than normal this evening. We have engineers on site working hard to get the water back to normal as soon as possible, currently we are injecting water in to the water mains to build pressure back up. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

The water supply company said early this morning that the connection is restored. “Customers who had no water during this time will see their supplies return back to normal, you may still see our teams working in the area. We’re really sorry for any inconvenience caused by this and thank you for your patience,” said Severn Trent on its website.
