Watch: Quad biker ‘boy racers’ jump red lights in Southside in Birmingham city centre

Residents around the Southside district of Birmingham city centre - near The Arcadian, Chinese Quarter and Gay Village have spoken - have spoken out against loud and dangerous quad bikers driving around their neighbourhood.

People living along Bromsgrove Street say these shocking scenes of anti-social behaviour from people on the utility vehicles are a regular occurrence in their neighbourhood.

The latest incidents were caught on camera on Sunday evening (June 25) near The Arcadian where the ‘boy racers’ can be seen jumping red lights. Similar scenes were filmed on Friday evening (June 23) along Bromsgrove Street.

A concerned resident said: “It’s only a matter of time before they cause an incident.”

Another said: “Last night boy racers were flooring it up and down Bromsgrove St, it’s only a matter of time before someone is killed. None of them are visiting the venues around Southside, it’s just a race track for them.”

BirminghamWorld asked police if they were investigating the issue. They said: “On Monday 26 June a 26-year-old man was reported for dangerous driving and for driving with no insurance.

“Officers will continue to work with the public and partners to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime within the city and on our roads.
