A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder, possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, and possession of an illegal firearm. He was arrested in relation to an incident in Washwood Heath in April 2023 when a man was shot in the abdomen and leg.

The 21-year-old remains in custody as not only did officers recover two handguns but also a quantity of cash and Class A drugs along with a number of cutting agents, scales and drug bags.

West Midlands Police: “We’ve recently launched a major new operation to target serious and organised crime across the West Midlands, and bring offenders to justice.

“Operation Target sees West Midlands Police taking a defiant stand against a range of serious and organised crime offences – from drug dealing and burglary, to cyber-crime and fraud. Officers are using local intelligence, seizing goods, carrying out warrants and targeting offenders as part of Op Target’s ongoing crackdown against serious and organised crime.”
