A 13-year-old boy appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Saturday 19 February), charged with wounding and possession of a knife.

The boy, who cannot be named because he is under 18, was arrested on Thursday, three hours after a 14-year-old boy was stabbed on Alum Rock Road, Saltley.

The victim’s injuries were not life threatening.
