For the second year running the Camra Good Beer Guide has included Red Beer’d on the Pershore Road in Cotteridge. Camra said: “A nice addition to the Cotteridge and Stirchley pub scene, this micropub featuring four cask and up to 10 keg taps is located close to Kings Norton railway station.

“There is comfortable seating for about 12 downstairs, and  few mor chairs around barrels upstairs. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about their beers.”

Red Beer’d joins the Black Horse in nearby Northfield in this year’s guide, along with Birmingham Brewing Company Tap Room and Wildcat Tap in Stirchley. In Kings Heath the Hop & Scotch on Institute Road has been featured in the Camra Good Beer Guide along with the Kings Heath Cricket & Sports Club on Alcester Road South.

This year’s guide also saw the inclusion of five pubs across Birmingham and Solihull for the first time. These are the Halton Turner Brewing Company and White Swan in Digbeth, The Black Eagle in Hockley, The Ale Hub in Mere Green and the Ale Hub in Solihull. You can read all about them here.
