Teenage motorbike passenger dies in collision in Moseley - full West Midlands Police statement

A teenage motorbike rider has died in a collision with a Ford Fiesta in Moseley. The fatal incident took place on Yardley Wood Road at 8.30pm on Monday, October 17.

Police said the 18 year-old man was initially picked up by another vehicle and taken away, before arriving at hospital with serious injuries. He passed away at the weekend.

Another 18 year-old man suffered non-threatening injuries and was also taken to hospital. The driver of the Ford Fiesta remained at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries.

West Midlands Police said: “We’re appealing for information and witnesses after a motorbike rider has sadly died following a collision in Moseley. The 18-year-old man was a passenger on a bike which was in collision with a car in Yardley Wood Road at around 8.30pm on 17 October.

“The teenager was initially picked up by another vehicle and taken away, before arriving at hospital with serious injuries. He tragically passed away at the weekend and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this distressing time. We’re doing all we can to support them during this time of grief.

“Another 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries which were not life-threatening. The driver of the Ford Fiesta remained at the scene and is helping with our enquiries.
