The Christmas Market will return to Birmingham’s city centre for its 19th year

Birmingham’s Frankfurt Christmas Market is looking for staff members to support its stalls when it gets underway in November.

Applications for numerous job roles at the market have opened today (August 30), with the Christmas market’s organisers once again looking to recruit more than 200 people to support its stalls when it returns to the city.

The market is returning to New Street and Victoria Square on November 2, and will run everyday until December 23.

Millions of people have attended the event over the years, and residents and visitors from far and wide are expected to travel to the heart of the city once again to indulge in the festivities at the market as it returns for its 19th year.

The event’s organisers – Frankfurt Christmas Market Ltd – are looking to fill a range of customer-facing and behind the scenes roles ranging from bar staff, catering assistants and salespeople on gift stalls, to kitchen assistants and porters.

How to apply and jobs on offer

There is a mix of part-time and full-time roles working alongside the German stallholders and their core team of staff, with hourly rates starting at £11 per hour.

The market organisers are looking for bar staff, catering assistants (food stall assistants) as well as gift / craft stall assistants to work on the busy stalls. Roles such as kitchen assistants, kitchen porters and glasswashers will also be on offer.

Interviews will start in the week commencing 11 September 2023 and continue in the run up until the market opens.
