It may be the first week of autumn but sunshine and scorching temperatures are set to arrive in the UK after a disappointingly wet summer.
Across the UK, the Met Office has said that a heatwave could be on its way from today (Monday 4 September) just as kids across the country head back to school for the new term. According to the meteorological weather service, temperatures could hit the heights of the 30s last seen in July.

Temperatures in the city and across the West Midlands are expected to reach up to 29 degrees this week.
Tuesday will be another fine and settled day with prolonged sunshine though slightly breezier.. Maximum temperature 29 °C.

Hide AdSome low cloud and fog are expected in the mornings from wednesday to Friday, but otherwise sunny periods and feeling very warm, with mild nights, with temperatures throughout the day ranging from 24 to 27 degrees.
And it’s expected to be a glorious sunny weekend with clear skies and temperatures of 26 degrees.
