It’s been a scorching few days in Birmingham and the West Midlands, with temperatures reaching 29 degrees in some parts of the region.

Despite the sunshine, a thunderstorm warning was issued for seven regions across the UK on the day on Saturday, including the West Midlands.

Temperatures remain high on Sunday, although rain is forecast at periods throughout the day. Unfortunately, the weather this week will reflect a more typical autumn week, with clouds and some light rain throughout.

Monday, September 11

Often cloudy with outbreaks of rain and showers, often heavy and perhaps thundery, pushing southeastwards on Monday. Feeling slightly fresher with light winds. Maximum temperature 24 °C.

Outlook for Tuesday to Thursday:

Turning more changeable and cooler with rain pushing through on Tuesday. Sunny spells on Wednesday with temperatures returning to around average then further rain and stronger winds arriving on Thursday.

Temperatures on Saturday and Sunday are set to be around 19 degrees and overcast.
