Thousands of people use the trains in Birmingham every day with railyway stations playing a significant part of many people’s routine journeys.
Amid the government’s plan to close the majority of ticket offices around the country, including in Birmingham, a sharp focus has been brough back on the state of our stations.
Many of them are lacking useful details while others are serving Birmingham rail passengers well. Certain facilities like ticket offices, toilets, waiting rooms and cafes and food vendors can make our journey a lot more pleasant, but not all train stations provide the same level of services.

Rated 4.8 stars from 17 Google reviews, this station has two platforms in use and all trains are operated by West Midlands Trains. One customer wrote: “Small nice train station which I use for my work commute.”
2. Butler’s Lane, Sutton Coldfield
Rated 4.7 stars from 7 Google reviews, this station serves the northern part of the Four Oaks district of Sutton Coldfield. One customer wrote: “This for me is a very convenient location, I literally live next door, my experience of this is therefore governed by my total lack of commute to and from, having said that it’s still ideal for many reasons, always clean and very friendly staff.”
3. Moor Street station
Located in the city centre, Moor Street is rated 4.4 stars from 726 reviews. One customer wrote: “Central location easier to navigate round than nearby New Street.”
