An arrest was made on Wednesday morning in connection with recent ‘vehicle cannibalisation’ crime across the city

A man has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to steal from motor vehicles that relates to six incidents in Birmingham and Sutton Coldfield.

Police arrested the 20-year-old and recovered stolen car parts from an address in Kitts Green, Birmingham on Wednesday morning (15 February).

Officers carried out the arrest in the early hours of this morning in connection with the vehicle cannibalisation crimes they have been dealing with recently. The man initially ran away from the address, jumping over a garden fence. Police Drones Team were on hand to carry out an aerial search, but he eventually returned.

Several car parts have also been recovered. These will be forensically analysed to try and trace the vehicles they have come from. The man remains in police custody for questioning.
