Inside Birmingham Snowhill’s new Aparthotel - previously the Royal Angus Hotel

The renowned Birmingham landmark The Royal Angus Hotel has been transformed into a new Aparthotel

It’s been a renowned landmark for Birmingham city centre for decades.

But the Royal Angus Hotel, opposite St Chad’s Cathedral on Queensway - which hosted many high profile guests over the years and was considered the epitome of style and sophistication in the 1970s and 1980s - was beginning to look a bit jaded.

Now the 92,000 sq ft site has been transformed into a 21st century luxury Aparthotel following a makeover with asset managers Switch Hospitality Management Ltd after being acquired by SevenCapital in August 2020. The new site includes a NISA convenience store.

There are ten accommodation types to choose from with a selection of design features - from pet-friendly apartments, to rooms with private terraces and interconnecting suites that can host up to eight people.

With dedicated spaces for sleeping, relaxing, working and dining, all rooms feature a fully-equipped kitchen with fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and combi-microwave oven as standard. Guests will also benefit from the latest technology, including self-check in portals and dedicated wi-fi hotspots in each apartment.

John Angus, Managing Director at Switch Hospitality, said: "Whether guests plan on staying for a weekend or a month, Aparthotel Birmingham Snowhill will respond to every lifestyle need, providing the luxury of a traditional hotel with the space and flexibility of a self-catered apartment. At Switch, we are committed to providing the highest level of service, and we can’t wait to welcome visitors to the city with all the comforts of a home away from home.”

Switch Hospitality Management Ltd has announced that the new Aparthotel Birmingham Snowhill is now taking bookings from December 2023. Take a look around here:
