Despite the efforts of medics, Clifton was pronounced dead at the scene in Small Heath, Birmingham, on November 7 last year.

Lenville was arrested four days later in Coventry following a huge manhunt having bought and changed into new clothes and shoes he bought from Primark.

He claimed in a police interview he knew he’d injured his brother but he hadn’t realised how badly hurt he was. A court heard how the pair argued after Lenville was linked online to an "incident" which happened at a Lidl store.

Following the ferocious attack, their other brother Robert discovered Clifton, known as Colton, in a pool of blood at the family home and called 999

Waite, of Small Heath, denied murder but was found guilty following a trial at Derby Crown Court today (Tuesday, May 30). He was jailed for life and ordered to serve at least 17 years in prison.

Detective Inspector Jim Colclough, of West Midlands Police, said afterwards: "This is a sad case of a row between brothers which ultimately ended in one of them losing his life. We can only hope this verdict brings some resolution and peace for the family as a whole."
