Police name man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Birmingham

A man was charged with attempted murder after a man was shot at a shop in Holyhead Road, Birmingham, last month.

Following an arrest in Leamington Spa on Thursday evening (September 21), Shaquarn Reid has been charged with attempted murder.

The 22-year-old is further charged with firearms possession offences, attempted robbery and resisting arrest. Reid has been held in police custody and is due before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Saturday, September 23).

The victim in the incident was taken to hospital with serious injuries just after 10.30pm on August 18. His injuries were not life-threatening.
