There are a number of road closures and other roadworks in place throughout Birmingham this week (11 - 15 May).

To help you plan your journey, we’ve had a look at the different travel restrictions which are in place across the city over the next few days.

We’ve had a look at the latest roadworks set to impact drivers and bus users this week, with information on diversion routes.

Building works at city road, Edgbaston

City Road between Rotton Park Road and Dudley Road will be closed for building works reducing the carridgewayWhen: Monday 25th April - Wednesday 15th June, each day 09:30 - 15:00.

Bus services affected & diversion route: NXWM 11A, 11C and 8011A and 11C diverted via City Road, Rotton Park Road, Gillott Road, Icknield Port Road, Dudley Road then normal line of route.

Hagley Road, Edgbaston

Hagley Road from Five Ways and Vicarage Road will be closed for resurfacing works.

When: Wednesday 11th - Saturday 14th May, each night overnight 23:00 - 06:00.

Bus services affected & diversion route: National Express West Midlands (NXWM) X8, 9, X10, 12, 12A, 13, 13A, 126 from BirminghamDiverted via Five Ways, Calthorpe Road, Westbourne Road, Harborne Road, Chad Road, Hagley Road then normal lines of route.

Congestion measures at Closures in Perry Barr

Three stops in Perry Barr will be closed and services moved to temporary stops to relieve the congestion in the area and improve service reliabilty.

When: Saturday 26 March

Services affected & diversion route: National Express (NXWM) 33, 51, 52, 54, 907A and Diamond 54Livingstone Road stop served by 33, 51, 52, 54 and 907A towards Perry Barr will be closed and services moved to a temporary stop just before the entrance of the subway.

Bragg Road stop served by the 33, 51 and 52 towards City will be closed and services moved to a temporary stop just after the Heathfield Road and Trinity Road junction, after the subway.Birchfield Road at Perry Barr Rail Station towards City served by 33 & 907 will be closed.

Passengers are advised to use the stop at Aldridge Road/Wellhead Lane opposite Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium.

Birchfield Road at Perry Barr Rail Station towards City served by 51 & 52 will be closed. Passengers are advised to use the stop at Walsall Road/Cliveden Aveune.The temporary stop T2 served by the 33 and 907 outside the new Perry Barr Rail Station building will be closed and the nearest stop for these services will be the stop on Aldridge Road outside Perry Barr Greyhound Stadium.

Highways improvement scheme at Highways Islands, Perry Barr

Due to the ongoing roadworks at Perry Barr, passengers should continue to expect possible delays to buses that use the Walsall Road, Aston Lane, Wellington Road, and Aldridge Road.

Every effort is being made to keep buses running to schedule but peak time increased traffic flows in the area may cause delays to services.

Travel Advice: Allow extra time.

Road works at Queens Elizabeth Hospital bus interchange

The internal loop road and stops around the QE Hospital Interchange will be closed in phases to allow improvement works and resurfacing to take place.

When: Wednesday 11 May - Friday 14th July.Phase 1 from Wednesday 11th May - Wednesday 1st June.

Services affected & diversion route: NXWM 10S, 20, 25 and 48Stop QA will be closed, and all services moved to a temporary stop pole on the opposite side of the interchange, underneath the main canopy and near the taxi rank and drop off area.

Tunnel maintenance at St Martins Tunnel, Moor Street

St Martins Tunnel between Moor Street Queensway and Smallbrook Queensway will be closed for tunnel maintenance.

When: Tuesday, 10th May - Overnight 22:00 - 05:00.

Bus services affected & diversion routeNXWM 16, 23, 24, 35, 45, 47, 61, 63, 80, X21 & X22Diversion route for 16Moor Street Queensway, Moor Street, Park Street, High Street, Rea Street, Bradford Street, Barford Street, Sherlock Street, Pershore Street, Upper Dean Street then normal line of route.

Diversion route for 23 and 24: Smallbrook Queensway, Hill Street, Station Street, Dudley Street, Pershore Street, Upper Dean Street, Moat Lane, Park Street, Moor Street, Moor Street Queensway then normal line of route. Services will use MS4 on Moor Street Queensway during this closure.

Carriageway incursion on Harborne Park Road, Birmingham

When: Sunday, 8 May 2022 to Friday, 13 May 2022.

Carriageway incursion on Soho Avenue, Birmingham

Monday, 9 May 2022 to Wednesday, 11 May 2022.

Carriageway incursion at Bristol Road South, Birmingham

When: Tuesday, 10 May 2022 to Friday, 13 May 2022.
