Yardley hit-and-run: Two people arrested as man in serious condition following collision in Birmingham

Two people were arrested after a man was left with serious injuries in a road traffic collision in Yardley, Birmingham.
The incident took place in Selby Close, Yardley, just after 5.10pm on Friday (13 October).

Hide AdWest Midlands Police said: “It is understood he had been struck by a car which did not remain at the scene. Officers attended and found the victim, a man in his 30s, with potentially life-threatening injuries.”
This was the third serious crash in the last four days. On Sunday, a man died and another was injured in Tyburn Road in Erdington, and on Monday, a man died on Pershore Road in Stirchley.
Commenting on the Yardley hit-and-run, police said: “He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
“Officers have been reviewing CCTV and speaking to witnesses to establish exactly what has taken place. This afternoon a man, aged 48, attended a police station and was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Yesterday a woman, aged 43, was arrested at an address in Birmingham on suspicion of attempted murder.”
