Birmingham fairground ride 'malfunction' leaves people hurt as 999 crews rush to Centenary Square
There are reports of a number of people being injured after a Christmas fairground ride apparently malfunctioned in Birmingham city centre tonight (Thursday, 12).
The area around the Centenary Square ride has been sealed off. Broad Street has been sealed off with the road closed and buses being diverted.

Hide AdA police cordon is currently in place between the ice rink, the library and the Rep theatre, with people asked to avoid the area.
A woman has been taken to hospital following the incident.
The incident has reportedly taken place involving the Star Flyer ride with images online showing some of the seats ‘tangled’.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said 11 other patients were assessed and discharged at the scene.
Reports online appear to show seats on one of the rides tangled with each other.
