‘I’m serving a six course chippy tea at my new restaurant in Birmingham, including a deep fried mars bar’

Six by Nico launched in Glasgow and it’s opening on Colmore Row in Birmingham in a restaurant inspired by a dragonfly

It’s a unique dining concept which has gone from strength to strength since launching in Glasgow six years ago.

Now Six by Nico - which services six course tasting menus that change every six weeks - is launching in Birmingham - on Colmore Row - with their sophisticated take on a chippy tea, which includes a Glasgow favourite - the deep fried mars bar.

Birmingham guests are in for an extra treat as the new restaurant design sounds extra special; inspired by a dragonfly, which has - of course - six legs!

The upmarket restaurant brand is renowned for its quality food with menus drawing inspiration from a theme, destination or concept - and it costs £39 for all six courses.

The Chippie was the first ever menu that chef and founder Nico Simeone served at his first venue in Finnieston in Glasgow and he is excited to bring the latest version of this nostalgic and playful menu to Brum.

Nico said: “The Chippie menu has to be my favourite menu because of the meaning and sentiment it holds for me. It was inspired by my childhood, and I’m excited for our new Birmingham guests to feel that nostalgia with every bite.”

The courses feature an amazing take on all the chip shop classics including scampi and a steak pie - and there’s a vegetarian option with cauliflower and haloumi and vegan too. Wine pairing for each course is also available for an extra £30.

In addition to a dragonfly, the interiors of the Colmore Row restaurant pay tribute to Birmingham’s industrial heritage and the pioneering work of Boulton and Watt, with components of the steam engine forming subtle historical nods.

We haven’t got any images of the interiors at the moment so here’s a look at what to expect from the six course chippy tea in more detail:
