The AA Rosette award was first awarded in 1956 and was the first nationwide scheme for assessing the quality of food served by restaurants and hotels. These are awarded annually on a rising scale based on a meal visit by one or more of inspectors.

Lasan Group’s Raja Monkey in Hall Green received the award and they were “thrilled” to have been “honoured with the prestigious AA Rosette for culinary excellence.”

They said: “This achievement is a true testament to the hard work, creativity, and passion of our incredible team. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated chefs, servers, and staff who have consistently gone above and beyond to deliver a dining experience that is nothing short of extraordinary.

“At Raja Monkey, we are committed to crafting flavoursome, soul-warming dishes, created with integrity and passion, getting our guests closer to India.”

The restaurant opened a second branch in Harborne earlier this year. The Harborne Village BID congratulated the restaurant saying: “A huge congratulations to the entire team at Raja Monkey and Raja Monkey - Harborne! Anyone that has booked a table knows that it’s very well deserved! Harborne is lucky to have such incredible, award-winning restaurants on the high street! The neighbourhood really is a slice of foodie heaven.”
