Flooding causes rail travel disruption between Birmingham New Street & London Euston & Liverpool Lime

Major travel disruption between Birmingham New Street and London Euston - as well as Rugley Trent Valley and Liverpool Lime Street- has caused delays for communters this morning (Tuesday, June 20).
With heavy rains battering Birmingham and the West Midlands, delays have been reported to services between London Euston and Birmingham New Street due to heavy rain flooding between the two stations. It also caused belays between Birmingham New Street and Liverpool Lime Street.

Hide AdThis disruption is expected to last until around 14:00 today (June 20). Delays would also affect the Coventry via Birmingham International route.

Meanwhile, cancellations were reported to services between Rugeley Trent Valley and Birmingham New Street due to a points failure near Walsall train services.
Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or terminated at and started back from Walsall. Disruption is expected to last until around 11:45 today (20 June). West Midlands Railways said: “Network Rail Engineers are on-site and working hard to repair the fault.”
