They said that the calls are not going through because of a technical fault

West Midlands Police have urged people to call 101 in an emergency until otherwise advised as many 999 calls are currently not connecting.

West Midlands Police added “This appears to be a national Issue affecting fire, ambulance and a number of police forces across the country. Please call 101 in an emergency until otherwise advised.”

You can also contact them via Live Chat on West Midlands Police website. 111 should be used if you need emergency medical assistance.

West Midlands Police said: “Until further notice, please ONLY call us in an emergency. We will keep you updated on further developments. Thank you.”
