We've taken a look at a selection of the latest planning applications issued to the city council across Birmingham

Changes to your local area can alter where you live in sometimes major ways. Many alterations, whether an extension to a neighbour’s house or the construction of a new housing estate begin life as a planning application.

These official documents can be dry and make for difficult bedtime reading. But they shed light on the plans in your area, and vitally you can have a say if you wish to object, or suggest alterations.

These applications can be found in detail on your local authority’s website – here in the case of Birmingham City Council – or you can see them at a glance on the Public Notice Portal. The portal also allows you to see applications for alcohol licences, road traffic notices around closures, diversions, or layout changes. All could play a vital part in how you go about your day-to-day lives. 

Below we have a selection of planning applications submitted to Birmingham City Council in the week of October 8 to October 14 – the latest set of applications available to view.
