A popular pub and music venue in Birmingham has been named the Entertainment Pub of the Year at the hospitality industry’s Night of Excellence Awards.

Hide AdThe awards celebrate the success of great licensees and the businesses they run in partnership with Greene King Pub Partners. They comprise of 15 awards ranging from Community Pub of the Year to Food Pub of the Year. Entrants go through a strict judging process including mystery visits in order to be crowned award winners.
This year, the awards were held at a grand ceremony and dinner hosted at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Warwickshire. The event was attended by numerous licensees from across the country.

The Hare & Hounds in Kings Heath won the Entertainment Pub of the Year award at the event.

Hide AdThe pub won the award in recognition of its long-established reputation as one of the most influential pub music venues in the country, playing a vital role in Birmingham’s music and creative communities.
The pub was commended by judges for its frequent range of events including a weekly pub quiz, a blues club, comedy workshops and more, which all complement its famous live music offer. The Hare & Hounds has hosted the likes of Ellie Goulding and Ed Sheeran on their journeys to stardom and is also known for hosting UB40’s first ever gig in 1979.
