Are you looking to change your luck? Birmingham might be the right place for you because the National Lottery named Birmingham the luckiest place to live in the UK.
The B postcode has seen 205 millionaires since 1994 when the National Lottery began. This means, there’s been equivalent to one every seven weeks and in the last three years alone, 35 millionaires were created across Birmingham.
Birmingham is far above in luck than the rest of the country with Belfast coming in second place with 174 winners, followed by Glasgow with 158. Sheffield comes in at fourth place with 150, Newcastle and Liverpool follow each with 136 before Manchester places seventh with 133. Cardiff follows with 126 then Peterborough in ninth with 119.
One of the recent winners was a retired teacher - Celeste Cole - from Birmingham. She banked a massive £3.6M National Lottery win in July 2022.
She said, “It’s been an amazing year, winning the lottery is truly life-changing. I have been able to treat my family and buy a holiday home in Spain which will mean we can all create more memorable moments together. Something which would never have happened without the win.”
Celeste said: “Congratulations to all the Brummie winners so far, hoping for lots more in the future! I’ve always known we are a lucky city, and everyone should remember that it could be you, as long as you have a ticket in your pocket!”
