The Birmingham institution announces new opening hours, reducing term-time days to Wednesday-Sunday from February 2026.

Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery has announced its newest opening hours which will commence next month.

From February 2026, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery's opening times will change to Wednesday - Sunday during term time, while remaining open 7 days a week during the school holidays.

In a statement on social media, the popular Birmingham institution shared that, ‘From February, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery's opening times during term time will change to Wednesday – Sunday. During Birmingham school holidays, we will remain open 7 days a week. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you during these days.’

The museum is particularly popular during the February school holidays, as general entry is free, though special exhibitions may require a separate ticket.

Current popular exhibitions include, Ozzy Osbourne (1948-2025): Working Class Hero, now open until September 27, 2026.
