Almost 60,000 people have moved to Birmingham in the year to mid-2022, according to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The latest data shows that while 59,091 people moved to Birmingham a greater number of residents left the city with net migration in the negative. As many as 75,125 people moved out of Birmingham with the population of the city declining by 16,034.
Birmingham is an amazing place to live in and will have the HS2 connecting the city to the capital in the future. And, the ONS data showed that it is also a favourite for London leavers. Almost 9,000 people moved from the City of London and its 32 boroughs to Birmingham in the year to mid-2022.
