It’s one of the jewels of Birmingham’s dining scene - but the Michelin starred favourite has confirmed it is leaving their city venue for good.

Carters of Moseley left the Birmingham to launch a pop up venue at Westlands UK in Evesham earlier this summer. Initially Brad and Holly said the move was temporary - however, the couple have now confirmed that they are quitting their venue in Birmingham for good in early 2024 - with details of a new permanent location to follow.

The venue has been in Moseley Village since 2010 and achieved its first Michelin star in 2015 and is renowned for serving elegant and interesting dishes without being grandiose or stuffy. It recently collaborated with the Hare and Hounds in Kings Heath where it served upmarket kebabs.

The restaurant site on St Mary’s Row on Wake Green Road, has a To Let sign outside. Brad and Holly have not given any other details about their decision. Brad has previously spoken about how ‘buzzed’ he is to cook at Westlands UK with The Good Food Guide announcing that their next exclusive lunch event ‘Meet The Chef’ will be with Brad Carter at Westlands UK on Sunday, August 20.

Brad said:  “I’m buzzed to be cooking at Westlands UK, to see our idea come to fruition feels great. Westlands UK are committed to sustainability so our responsibility throughout summer is to support their ongoing mission of work - the menu sits at around 75% of produce grown in and around the dining space.”

Award-winning mixologist, Rob Wood has also designed three aperitif and three digestif style cocktails, pursuing the hyper-seasonal and local mantra of Carters by using ingredients from the UK and showcasing the produce available from Westlands. The menu includes a recreation of James Pimm’s 1840 Gin Cup, alongside a foray of Westlands UK herbs and English cherries and berries for the new Westlands UK Cup.

As a family-owned, multi-generational business headed up by Managing Director Will Boers, Westlands UK is proud to operate as a team, with a thoughtful approach at every step of the growing process.
