George scoops £5,000 and a free drink from Mailbox bar and restaurant

George Lewis is the lucky winner of a competition to win £5,000 run by independent bar and restaurant group Enchanted Ventures

Congratulations to George Lewis - the delighted winner of a competition to win £5,000 run by independent cocktail bar and modern Chinese restaurant Aluna in the Mailbox.

The 28 year-old entered a competition back in November where customers needed to visit an Enchanted Ventures venue and claim a free pint to be in with a chance of winning the cash prize.

George, who lives in Birmingham City Centre, toasted his winnings at Aluna’s sister bar and Chinese restaurant Lulu Wild in Brindleyplace.

Naomi Aly from Aluna explains: “We wanted to give back to the community by helping one lucky person win a lump sum of cash which they could put towards whatever they choose, be it their gas bill, Christmas presents or a much-needed holiday.

“Times are tough at the moment so we are delighted to be able to present this cheque to George and hope he enjoys spending it.”

George said: “When I found out that I’d won, a broad smile crept across my face and a sense of joy and relief washed over me. I headed straight for the living room where my partner was wrapping gifts for our relatives. She was shocked when I gave her the news, we hugged and talked excitedly of what we could use the money for.

“This prize could not have come at a better time, like for many people this year has been hard on us and were it not for the love and support of friends and family I do not know how we would have coped. It just goes to show you have to hold on to hope, no matter what.

“We will put the money towards much needed repairs, replacements around the house, some medical expenses and paying off debts. Anything left will ensure that we can celebrate the festive season in style!”

Enchanted Ventures also own Siamais Thai Restaurant & Cocktail Bar in Brindleyplace.
