Cosy south Birmingham pub reopens after extensive refurbishment - take a look inside here

An established pub in south Birmingham has undergone a huge transformation with more space for guests

A local pub in south Birmingham has reopened today (Friday, October 20) following a six-figure investment that has completely transformed and modernised the site.

The Hungry Horse pub, which is hugely popular for families, has been closed for the last few weeks to undergo a complete revamp from top to bottom.

Now The Cambridge in Longbridge town centre is once again welcoming guests.Inside, the site has received a complete makeover, including new furniture and décor throughout. The bar has also been moved to provide a more open plan space, allowing the pub to increase its capacity by 40.

As well as having more space, customers can enjoy better facilities throughout, including the addition of a self-serve coffee station, ideal for those popping in from the local Premier Inn or on their early morning commute into Birmingham. Along with the main seating area, the entire upstairs has been refurbished and modernised, providing the perfect space for large groups, such as families and friends, to book epic birthday parties and private functions.

The pub, which is part of the Greene King family, will continue to offer a wide range of family favourites from its extensive food menu, from steak and ruddles ale pie, to hand battered fish and chips. The Cambridge team will of course continue to run Hungry Horse’s fantastic weekly deals, including kids eat for £1 every Monday, and popular theme nights, such as curry night on Wednesdays. Not only that, but the site offers a delicious breakfast menu, available every day from 8am.

Situated on the border of Birmingham and Worcester, and close to Longbridge train station, the pub welcomes everybody, from families and shoppers visiting the local retail park to commuters finishing a hard day’s work, with something for everyone.

Alex Bushell, General Manager of The Cambridge said:“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome back our customers, both old and new, whom we’ve missed while we’ve been closed. We’re so pleased with the renovations and we’ve no doubt that our customers will love the new layout and environment just as much as us. With Christmas just around the corner, we can’t wait to see everyone booking in to enjoy some truly epic festive celebrations.”
