And now, new research has shown that the number of live gigs in Birmingham has soared 183% this year alone - with instrumentalists/vocalists and DJs proving most popular in bars, clubs and restaurants - according to data revealed by live music marketplace GigPig.

Since January this year, more than 860 gigs have been performed in grassroots venues across the city via booking platform GigPig, showcasing the catalytic impact that the live music marketplace is having on artists and venues.
