Davis announced to his close friend Richard Squire - who lives in Ibiza - that he was going to catch a boat off the island and travel to Barcelona.

The England Rugby star was last seen filming a video at The Old Irish Pub, off the Catalan capital’s tourist street La Rambla on October 29. His foster mum Suzanne Balfour has told how Davis said in a now deleted video that he was being ‘blackmailed’ and that his ‘life was in danger’.

Speaking to Sky News’ Kay Burley, Suzanne also said that Levi was ‘frightened’ and could have been ‘running from something’. She said he told a friend he ‘had to get out of Ibiza.’

In September 2020, Davis came out as bisexual in an interview with the Daily Mail. He is the first professional rugby union player to come out as bisexual while still playing. He said he had experienced anxiety and depression before coming out.

When Burley asked Suzanne if Levi’s sexuality could have been related to the alleged blackmail, she said: “I have no idea. Last year we did speak about his sexuality and how he felt, but I have no idea how that has transpired to today.

‘I don’t know what’s going on, he might be just frightened, he did say in that video that his life was in danger, I don’t know whether he’s running from something, I just don’t know.”
