A teenage boy who died two days after sustaining a gunshot wound has been named today (November 12) as 16-year-old Diego Henry.
Diego’s heartbroken mother has said: “My son Diego Henry, was a pleasant and well-mannered young man, who would easily put a smile on anyone’s face. Diego will be sadly missed by his mother, father, siblings and exceedingly large circle of family and friends. Diego always expressed a passion for music and would be seen singing, dancing or rapping wherever he was.

Detectives are continuing to piece together what happened on Sunday 5 November when Diego was found at an address in Lighthorne Avenue, Ladywood around 12.30pm.
It was during the course of this investigation that officers searching shrubland at the nearby canal discovered the body of a 17-year-old boy. A forensic post mortem examination is due to take place tomorrow to determine the cause of his death. Although linked to the murder of Diego, West Midlands Police said they are not looking for anyone else in relation to his death.
A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of Diego’s murder remains on police bail.
