Police name Birmingham Kingstanding roof incident suspect as he is charged with offences

West Midlands Police have charged a man who was arrested after an incident on the roof of the Kingstanding in Birmingham 

Police have named a man charged with a number of offences after an incident involving someone on the roof of a building in Kingstanding.

Officers said that Akim Nicholson, aged 34, has been charged with offences including affray, assaults on emergency workers and racially aggravated assault. He has also been charged with making threats with a knife and criminal damage. He was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court today (Thursday, January 18).

Police said the court appearance follows an incident on the building of a premises on Warren Farm Road on Tuesday. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We have charged a man with a number of offences including affray, assaults on emergency workers and racially aggravated assault after an incident involving someone on the roof of a building in Kingstanding.

Akim Nicholson, aged 34, has also been charged with making threats with a knife and criminal damage. He was remanded to appear at Birmingham Magistrates Court. It follows an incident on the building of a premises on Warren Farm Road on Tuesday.”
