Pedestrian suffers serious injuries after Birmingham city centre crash

A pedestrain has has been left with serious injuries after a collision with a car in Birmingham city centre this morning (15 January).
The collision took place by the Aston Expressway near to Corporation Street in just before 5am.

Hide AdThe road was closed for a number of hours while police investigated the collision.
The man, in his 20s has been taken to hospital. West Midlands Police say the driver was spoken to by officers and the Aston Expressway has now reopened but the crash resulted in heavy traffic in the city centre on Sunday morning.
Bus services operating in the city centre were also affected following the crash.

A spokeswoman for West Midlands Police, sado: “A pedestrian has been left with serious injuries following a collision with a car in Birmingham this morning (15 January).

Hide Ad“We were called to the Aston Expressway near to Corporation Street at around 4.50am.
“The man believed to be in his 20s was taken to hospital. The driver was spoken to by officers and the road was closed while we investigated the incident.”
