West Midlands Police are investigating the murder of a man at a bus stop in Hockley in Birmingham.

The victim was stabbed to death on Hunters Road near Hockley Circus at 8pm on Monday (June 12). Police and paramedics rushed to the scene, but the man died before he could be taken to hospital. A woman, 37, was arrested on suspicion of murder a short time later, along with a man, 43, who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Detective Inspector Michelle Thurgood, of West Midlands Police, said: “We’re working hard to establish exactly what happened and why, and really need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time. We believe there were people in the area at the time who saw what happened but have not yet been in touch with us. It’s vital that they call us as soon as possible."

The dead man’s family have been informed and forensic teams were photographed conducting a fingertip search of the scene today (Tuesday, June 13).
