Well we’re now firmly within the wedding season and a recent study has shown that Birmingham is in the top 10 list of destinations for hen parties in Europe. I’m here on the streets of the city to find out what would make a perfect hen do in the region and maybe even hear some stories.
Bonnie says: “I’ve had my hen party in Wolverhampton at the Slug and Lettuce. That was good. I went for cocktail making. Yeah, it was fun. I got really drunk. I had my friend’s hen do in Birmingham in… where’s that? Near the Chinese quarter? What’s it called? The Arcadian! Yeah, we had it there. That was fun. But yeah, I’ve never really been to any other hen dos up here.”

Hide AdKirsty says: “I think there’s loads of different really cool places. I personally really like going to Digbeth because there’s so many interesting things you can do there, like adult ball pits in a bar, like, who can argue with that? And loads of fun activities there. So that’s personally where I would choose to go. And I’ve been on quite a few. They all got a little bit messy. But you know, fun!”

Georgia says: “I think on Saturday night when we walked out of the hotel, within about a kilometre we saw about three or four different hen’s parties, all wandering around dressed in their lovely sashes. It definitely looks like the place for it with all the clubs and like they were having a lot of fun.”
Phil says: “What makes Birmingham to be in the best top 10 cities for hen parties in Europe is because we are a friendly city. Hen parties are all about having a good time and celebrating. And that’s something we really like to do here in Birmingham. Birmingham is a destination spot for people. So they like to come here to have a great time. It’s a model city. We’ve got a beautiful travel network and lots of bars, restaurants and nightlife - and daytime culture as well.”
