Police are continuing to investigate the death of Matthe Lynch in Handsworth, Birmingham

A suspect arrested on suspicion of murdering a man found dead in Handsworth, Birmingham, has now been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, police have announced.

The 32-year-old was arrested on Tuesday (July 11) after the discovery of the body of Matthew Lynch, aged 43, at an address in Ashwin Road at around 2.30pm.

West Midlands Police issued an update yesterday (Wednesday, July 12) saying: “We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death of Mr Lynch, who died from serious injuries. Enquiries continue and anyone with information has been asked to contact police on 101 or via Live Chat, quoting log 2654 of 11 July.”
