A 54-year-old man died in a fatal hit and run in Great Barr in Birmingham

Police are appealing for information about a man they want to speak to in connection with a fatal hit and run in Birmingham.  

A 54-year-old man was found unresponsive on Newton Road, Great Barr in Birmingham at around 9pm on Friday 8 September. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A BMW 520D car, believed to have been involved in the collision, was recovered nearby. West Midlands Police want to speak to Francesko Gajta, 24, in relation to the collision.

Sergeant Julie Lyman from the forces Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Following extensive enquiries and developments in the investigation, I am now in a position to name Francesko as a person of interest that we wish to speak to. 

“I would appeal directly to Francesko to do the right thing and get in touch with us. I would also make urge anyone who knows where Francesko is or is in contact with him to get in touch.”
