As the name suggests, The Good Pub Guide knows a thing or two about fine drinking establishments - and the publication features a host of Birmingham’s brilliant bars.
There are scores listed for so many reasons - but mainly because they serve some first class beer. Take a whirl through our gallery to see which Brummie pubs the guide ranks as ‘recommended’ and ‘worth a visit’.
Feel free to contact us with any of your recommendations too:

9. Purecraft Bar & Kitchen
The Good Pub Guide is impressed by the industrial-chic bar which has an excellent range of eight cask and 16 craft beers - along iwth an interesting bottle range. There’s cocktails and a dozen wines by the glass too. Good food is served all day - and you can get food and beer pairings with the help of friendly and helpful staff. | Google Maps

10. The Physician, Edgbaston - recommended
The Good Pub Guide praises this venue, which was once home to the Birmingham Medical Institute. It says the staff are friendly and well trained and there’s a fantastic range of drinks, lots of space outside and plenty of atmosphere. The GPG adds: “Oozing historical grandeur, the high ceilings and big sash windows have been used to great effect.” | Google Maps

11. Rose Villa Tavern, Warstone Lane, Jewellery Quarter - Worth a visit
The Good Pub Guide praises this popular 1920s Grade II listed red brick pub with its stunning stained-glass windows and sky lit bar with floor-to-ceiling green tiles and massive tiled fireplace. Quirky touches get a nod - including the antler chandeliers and red phone box. The well kept ales, craft beers, ciders, cocktails and over 100 vodkas also win points along with the reasonably priced American diner food. | Google Maps

12. Tap & Spile, Gas Street, city centre - Worth a visit
The Good Pub Guide is a fan of this refurbished canalside pub on three floors, with the main bar/restaurant downstairs opening on to the towpath. The real ales, proper cider, decent range of wines and good value food also get the thumbs up. Children & dogs are welcome - it’s open late too, upstairs. | Google Maps
