Recently, we’ve been looking at some of the famous faces who went to schools in our city.
From footballers and athletes, to actors, film stars and influential politicians, there are many big names who were educated in Birmingham.
This week BirminghamWorld has taken a look at the famous chefs who went to school in Brum. The city has one of the best dining scenes in the country. It encompasses French fine dining, global fusion, craft cocktails, local brews and more.
The city is home to six Michelin star restaurants - the highest number in the UK outside London. There’s Adams, Opheem and Purnells in the city centre, Carters in Moseley, Peel’s in Solihull and Simpsons in Edgbaston.
There are also many other brilliant independent venues offering fantastic, innovative food too - The Wilderness in the Jewellery Quarter and Craft at the ICC to mention just two.

5. Poppy O’Toole: South Bromsgrove High School & University College Birmingham
Poppy O’Toole is an internet sensation thanks to her Michelin -trained food channel Poppy Cooks. She rose to fame after her TikTok on how to make the perfect hash brown gained her 1.3 million social media followers. She hails from Bromsgrove and also studied in Birmingham before getting an apprenticeship at Purnell’s in the city. She recently starred in Celeb Cooking School on Channel 4. | The Relationship
