Police name disorder suspects after Bagot Street fireworks in Birmingham

West Midlands Police has charged six suspects in connection with disorder after fireworks were launched in Birmingham city centre.
Six men are facing charges in connection with disorder which saw fireworks launched in Birmingham city centre. Police said that the fireworks were dangerously being set off towards people, buildings and police officers in the Bagot Street and Staniforth Street area on Tuesday evening (October 31).

Hide AdOfficers detained a number of people and then stopped two cars nearby which were suspected of being linked to the disorder. Inside one vehicle police said they recovered a knife and other fireworks.
Officers have now charged Sheryar Khan, aged 21; Iqram Khan, 22 and Zain Mahmood, 24, with causing a public nuisance and possession of an offensive weapon.
They have also charged George Dandison, Ulrich Angwe and Ajay Penfold, all aged 19, with public nuisance. They were remanded to appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today (2 November). Three other people have been bailed while police enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “Fortunately no-one was seriously injured during the disorder, and we’ll continue to have a visible presence of officers in and around the area over the coming days.
