Birmingham is home to many celebrities known across the world, and many come to visit the city from time to time. I'm here today on the streets of Birmingham to find out if Brummies have any connections to celebrities either born and bred or otherwise and to hear their stories.

Justina says: “So I met quite a few celebrities in Birmingham. So starting with the Commonwealth Games we had Prince… the one that is next in line… William! Prince William with his family was in the Utilita when we were working there.

“Some other royal family members as well that I'm not that familiar with. I guess the most famous one was Tom Cruise in 2021 when they were filming Mission Impossible in the Grand Central and I was one of the extras and had a pleasure to meet him. And recently The Peaky Blinders creators as they are filming around Birmingham now.”

Aidan says: “We met Romell from TGF we have - both at the same time. It was wicked. He’s a sound geezer you know!” Ramma says: “Craig Gardner actually - he’s a funny one. Villa played Blues, March 10th, Grealish scored the winner. And in that game Craig Gardner had two chances at the end of the game and skied them. And I went to Nandos the week after and he sat two tables away from us.”

Sandra says: “Do you know what I honestly don't think I've ever actually met any celebrities apart from fleeting glimpses of Joe Lycett. Perhaps going into Sainsbury's in Kings Heath, but I think that's the actual closest I've got to a real celebrity. “

Damon says: “Okay… celebrities… in Birmingham? I asked Derren Brown where the toilet was once!” Jeffrey says: “Well, I'm in a metal band called Born hostile. And I wouldn't say it's like a famous celebrity but to me, it's like a god.

“His name's Peter Rewinsky from Benediction. He's the guitarist I met some dude called Darren - I think he's the bassist as well but I’m not too bothered about him but yeah, members from Benediction. I've met a couple members from Napalm Death for the studio as well. Oh - and TGF Bro!”
