Police appeal after cyclist found injured in Rubery

West Midlands Police have appealed for witnesses after a cyclist was found lying in the road in Rubery on Wednesday (30 August).

At around 4.05pm, paramedics spotted the 76-year-old on New Street at the junction of Arden Road. He was found wearing his white helmet lying next to his black and white bike. He suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, from our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “At this stage we are keeping an open mind as to how this gentleman sustained his injuries. I am keen to hear from anyone who was in the area around 4pm, in particular anyone who might have dash-cam footage, please get in touch.” Anyone with information is asked to get in touch via 101, quoting log number 3048 of 30 August, or email SCIU – [email protected].
