A popular historic pub in Selly Oak has re-opened with dazzling interiors after an extensive refurbishment.
The Ember Inns pub - a large mock-Tudor watering hole serving traditional pub food - originally opened in 1900 and is located on Raddlebarn Road. It is now owned by Mitchells and Butlers group.

Hide AdLocated near to the A38, on the banks of the Worcester and Birmingham Canal, The Country Girl is a great place for families to eat, drink and relax after a long day spent exploring Cadbury World, Cannon Hill, or Selly Manor, or watching a game at Edgbaston Cricket Ground.
It welcomed their customers back following an extensive three-week refurbishment with a brighter and fresher look. Some of the new features include a refreshed bar, soft furnishings and an improved dining area has given the pub a warm touch, providing guests with a relaxed, welcoming environment.
Commenting on the pub’s new look, general manager, Sharon Hammond, said: “The level of transformation we’ve had is amazing and the whole team and I are incredibly excited to reveal The Country Girl’s new look to our guests. Whether you’re looking for a get together with friends or somewhere to unwind by a crackling fireplace, our pub is ready to welcome guests, both new and old, to enjoy our brand-new look — but with the same cosiness it’s always had.”
In addition to a fixed price lunch and dinner menu, the pub will now offer a wide range of delicious, freshly cooked dishes, including chargrilled skewers, stone baked pizzas, steaks, and roasts available every Sunday.
