Passing Fancies has rapidly ascended to the top 3 on the UK’s Top 50 Cocktail Bars list. Collaborators Matt Arnold and Eve Green, both esteemed bartenders from Edgbaston and Grain & Glass, joined forces to establish this venue in 2022, and within a year, it has firmly secured its place at the pinnacle.

The bar offers an enticing menu of 12 meticulously crafted cocktails, thoughtfully categorised into Fruity, Savoury, Classic, and Sparkling options. Notable highlights include the Nectarine Bellini, the Salt & Rye, and the playful Adult Ribena. Passing Fancies also boasts a curated selection of wines from around the world.

The bar’s cosy and inviting atmosphere, with 54 covers, evokes the feeling of being in “the kitchen at a house party.” The name itself reflects the trio’s commitment to adaptability, as they regularly update the menu and avoid rigid themes. Alongside the delightful drinks, guests can savour a variety of tasty plates, such as arancini, cheese boards, and charcuterie.

Situated in Digbeth’s iconic Custard Factory, Passing Fancies brings “approachable luxury” to Birmingham’s hip neighbourhood. Amidst other restaurants, shops, and bars, this establishment stands out as a beacon of culinary creativity. Operating hours: Wednesday to Saturday until midnight, and Sundays until 10pm.
