The FA have handed out fines to both clubs following Blues’ 3-1 win over the Welsh side earlier this month

Birmingham City and Wrexham have been fined by the FA following a melee towards the end of the game.

Tom Brady, Rob McElhenney, David Beckham and co watched on as Jay Stansfield netted a brace to guide Birmingham City to a 3-1 win over League One promotion rivalsunder the St Andrew’s lights.

The players clashed after Birmingham’s Alex Cochrane and Wrexham substitute Paul Mullin began arguing towards the end of the game. According to the BBC, an independent regulatory commission decided that Wrexham should be fined £3,750, with Birmingham handed a standard penalty of £2,500.

The FA spokesperson told the BBC that both clubs “admitted that they failed to ensure their players did not behave in an improper and provocative way”.
